Ingredients:
- 130g raisins
- 0,5l strong black tea
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 170g butter or margarine
- 180g sugar
- 500g flour
- 1 packet of baking powder
Preparation:
Boil raisins in tea for 5 minutes. Add baking soda. Melt butter or margarine in hot tea with raisins. Cool it for a while, add sugar, flour and baking powder and mix it carefully. Put the cake into a cake tin (diameter about 25 cm). Bake it for 1 hour in medium heated oven. Cool the cake, take it out from the form, and cover it with a thin layer of sugar-icing made of lemon juice and custer sugar. The cake can be sprinkled with candied orange or lemon rind.
Recipe 2 (tea honey-cake)
Ingredients:
- 300g honey
- 60g butter
- 550g flour
- 1 egg
- ¾ glass of tea essence
- 15 ground cloves
- 120g sugar
- ½ tsp baking soda
- 20g creamy butter (to grease the form)
Preparation:
Mix melted butter, sugar, egg, tea and cloves with melted honey and knead the dough until smooth. Add flour, soda and knead a smooth dough. Grease the fruit cake form carefully with butter, put the dough into it and bake for about 40 minutes in temperature 200°C.
